Survivor Training Opportunity

UWOCASO works to unite and empower all women who have survived or fighting cancer to educate communities on cancer facts, help patients and their families overcome challenges of cancer diagnosis and to ensure cancer is a priority in Uganda. We believe in Participatory and Collective Action of our members by giving them equal opportunities to participate in activities and programs of the organisation. We respect the unique contributions of each one and work together to achieve a common goal.
With financial support from African Initiatives for Relief and Development (AIRD), UWOCASO will conduct a one day training on March 22nd 2019 in Kampala, aiming at building capacity of cancer survivors to use their own cancer experience to help the community understand cancer and help cancer patients cope with challenges. Who is eligible?
i. Fully paid up UWOCASO members both Associate and full members
ii. ii. Board members
iii. iii. Survivors who have been actively involved in UWOCASO activities and/ or volunteering in the cancer community
iv. iv. Members who expressed interest in volunteering in UWOCASO’s outreach programs during membership registration.
v. v. Survivors who demonstrate willingness and ability to use the knowledge gained from the training and other experiences they have to serve the cancer community.
vi. vi. Survivors who reside and work in rural districts are strongly encouraged to apply

Request for Proposals for Radio Skits

All of Me:  HPV Cancer Free Initiative

The  All of Me:  HPV Cancer Free Initiative, managed by a consortium of five Ugandan cancer organisations (Uganda Child Cancer Foundation, HealthAid Uganda, Cancer Aid Organisation, Friends Crew Africa) led by the Uganda Women’s Cancer Support Organisation (UWOCASO), seeks proposals from qualified radio design and production firms or consultants to design cervical cancer awareness and prevention skits, spots, and jingle for radio.   Specifically, the firm/consultant will design and produce:

  • A campaign theme song/jingle in English and Luganda;
  • Three 45-second radio spots in three languages; and
  • 8 2-minute radio skits in three languages.
